Farm Focus Field Day – Manure as a Fertilizer Replacement

July 24, 2008 at 8:00 am

You do not have to be an agricultural economist to understand the effects of skyrocketing input costs for agricultural fertilizer. At this year’s Farm Focus Field Day, we have put together two topics that go hand-in-hand to discuss this very issue: fertilizer input pricing and manure application.

OSU’s own Barry Ward will discuss pricing crop inputs in a volatile market. Concurrently, we’ll offer a session on liquid manure applications. Manure is gaining tremendous interest as a replacement for commercial fertilizer in agricultural fields. Participants will be able to sit through both Barry Ward’s presentation and the liquid manure presentation.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Farm Focus Field Day. The field day is free and open to the public, and is held at the Marsh Foundation Farm (1229 Lincoln Highway, Van Wert, OH).
